M/s MBP Solar Private Limited, a SPV of M/s Patil Construction & Infrastructure Limited (PCIL), is proposing to install a 40 MW grid interactive solar PV power project at Lingi village, Aurad Taluk, Bidar District in the State of Karnataka. Recognizing the potential of solar energy for the country and the need for augmentation of conventional grid through non-conventional sources of energy, especially solar energy, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has come out with some path-breaking policy initiatives for financial support of grid connected solar PV power plants in the country. As part of that initiative it called for tenders and M/s PCIL has successfully bid and won 40 MW project After e-Reverse Auction, to be set up in Bidar, Karnataka.

The system configuration of the proposed power plant is as follows:

  • The capacity of the power plant will be of 40 MW with expected electrical energy generation for sale will be approximately 84.72 MU/annum with average performance ratio of 76.8%.
  • M/s MBP Solar Private Limited have entered into a Solar Energy Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (A Govt. of India Enterprise)
  • The Solar Modules will generate DC power which will be converted by Inverters, to AC at 400V, which in turn will be stepped up to 33 /110 KV voltage level and evacuated 110KV KPTCL 33 /110 KV sub-station at Dongergaon Tal-Aurad ,Dist –Bidar.
  • Land: 225 acres is available 9 km away from 33/110kV KPTCL Dongergaon Transmission Substation.
  • At the site: Average GHI = 1934 kWh/m2/year and GNI = 2489 kWh/m2/year (Data Source: NREL weather satellite data & geographic information system (GIS) )
